This ’49 Ford Woody has always been a California car.  After many years of service to the family, it was sold to a car enthusiast in Burlingame, California.  As his ambitions were bigger than his pocketbook, the Woody ended up parked under a backyard tree for many

years.  Luckily it was rescued and brought to

San Diego by a Pt. Loma man who is in the

business of restoring Woodys.

Ron was driving in Pt. Loma one day and saw several Woodys parked at a house.  Reminded of the Woody he owned in high school, Ron stopped at this house and ended up purchasing this Woody that had been neglected for so long.  He painstakingly restored it from the frame up, attempting to keep the car as original as possible.  The restoration was completed for its first car show June 11, 1989, at Deer Park Winery in Escondido.

Since then it has been on display in many classic car shows, among them: the San Diego Concours d’Elegance, Wavecrest Woody Show at Moonlight Beach, and the All Ford Picnic at Del Mar.  The ‘49 Woody was honored to receive an invitation to be displayed at the La Jolla Motor Car Classic in 2006.
